Building and Managing Soil Phosphorus
Members of the ETS team are frequent guests on the Ag Ph. D. Radio show. The following episode is related to the topic of Building and Managing Soil Phosphorus.
Eric Moore talks about phosphorus and how strip-till farmers are able to place nutrients near the root mass where the plant needs them. The topic of soil moisture is also discussed, and Eric says, “I would rather see us till too dry than too wet”. His reasoning is because if we go into soil that is too wet we create compaction layers that take many years to reduce soil structure. Finally, listen as Eric talks on sizing crop residue to make it easier to till in the spring.
