Members of the ETS team are frequent guests on the Ag Ph. D. Radio show. The following episode is related to the topic of Fertilizing Winter Wheat.
Eric Moore talks about properly fertilizing in the drier area, “If a plant is short of a nutrient in the soil it has to translocate more water... just to meet those nutrient needs so it is inefficiently using water.” When you are creating a fertility plan take into account the soil sample and how the crop will be raised. Eric also offers some insight that crop rotation can offer some change to nutrient availability.
