Sales Engineer

Environmental Tillage Systems is seeking a Sales Engineer to assist the sales team and production team in creating a seamless ordering process.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Sales Engineer will work with the sales team to ensure sales quotes are built to the customer’s needs and are approved and submitted to the production team. He or she will be the main contact between the sales team and the production team. The position is based at ETS headquarters in Faribault, Minnesota, with some travel required.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Communicate with the sales team to understand consumer demands and offer sales support where necessary.
  • Secure orders, guarantee product standards and assure product delivery.
  • Plan for modifications to products to meet consumer demands.
  • Identifying areas for improvement and communicating these issues as well as possible solutions to upper management.
  • Partner with the sales team and production team to plan, prepare and execute strategic deals in complex sales cycles.
  • Build strong relationships with sales and production teams. 


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Agriculture sales experience 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Precise attention to detail.
  • Advanced organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree. Agriculture-related preferred.

Production Positions 

POSITIONS AVAILABLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking individuals to fulfill a combination of these production roles depending on the seasonality of the business and the production cycle.

Assembly Technician – assemble parts while maintaining quality workmanship.

  • Independently carry out general assembly procedures and work by assembly instruction sheets.
  • Assemble subassemblies or parts of subassemblies to the main machine being worked on.
  • Check and double-check work and correct any assembly problems.
  • Assist in planning assembly procedures and administering the completion of a machine.
  • Conduct final functional tests to verify that the assembled unit operates properly and that it is of high quality.
  • Read and understand blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Keep work area neat, clean, and orderly.
  • Follow prescribed safety regulations.

Welder/Fabricator – weld metal parts together using specified wire welding processes.

  • Knowledge of the welding process and equipment.
  • Fabricate metal products in an efficient manner to maximize production.
  • Operate equipment in a safe manner and report hazards associated with the equipment or its operators to the Manager or Safety Director.
  • Produce strong penetrated welds that are smooth, non-porous, and consistent.
  • Follow required procedures and use appropriate jigs and fixtures to assist in the assembly process.
  • Communicate effectively with other workers to help direct personal workflow.
  • Weld vertical, flat, and overhead welds with good penetration and a quality appearance.
  • Operate plasma cutter, acetylene torch, and other metal fabrication tools.
  • Math skills including fractions and angles.
  • Physical ability to work and weld in awkward positions such as kneeling, lying down, and overhead.
  • Operate various shop tools including power and manually operated wrenches.
  • Ability to use fork trucks, overhead cranes, power tools, wrenches, levels, etc.
  • Adhere to Assembly, Materials, and accounting record-keeping practices by promptly and accurately logging pertinent information.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal relations skills.
  • Self-motivated, detailed, well organized, and a team player.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to read and understand instructions
  • High school diploma
  • Some technical training preferred
  • Prior manufacturing experience
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs on a frequent basis

Engineering Intern

Environmental Tillage Systems is seeking an Engineering Intern for Summer 2024. The position is based in Faribault, MN and will report to the Senior Engineer.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
This internship will focus on all aspects of engineering of the SoilWarrior product line. Duties may include prototyping, light assembly, field testing (and associated travel), and documentation of assembly processes and systems. The selected person should also establish personal goals he or she would like to accomplish during this internship. We will make every effort to provide opportunities to achieve these goals.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be interested in our business and working with agricultural equipment.
  • Must be pursuing a degree in mechanical or agricultural engineering, precision agriculture or related technology field.
  • Must have completed at least sophomore-level classes heading into junior or senior year of college.
  • Must have basic computer skills and some CAD modeling experience.
  • Must have local living accommodations; ETS will not pay for travel or relocation.

Service Technician Intern

POSITION DESCRIPTION
ETS service technicians provide professional and prompt support to new and existing ETS clients. Their primary role is safely, accurately and efficiently maintaining ETS equipment, which includes the SoilWarrior®. They are also expected to be ambassadors of the ETS brand, driven to serve others and willing help solve problems. Workload varies throughout the year and may include nights and weekends. Must be able to travel for multiple days during peak times of the year. You will also attend tradeshows and events and interact with customers and prospects. DUTIES

  • Analyze work orders and assist service manager in planning travel schedule.
  • Investigate service and warranty claims. Diagnose errors and technical problems. Determine proper solutions.
  • Manage onsite set-up of new machines, including technology installation. Repair and maintain equipment as needed.
  • Document services performed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Transport machines and vehicles as needed.
  • Maintain ETS-supplied vehicle and service trailer.  Ensure equipment and tools remain in clean, professional condition and maintain according to manufacturer recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain good client relationships. Build trust by keeping service information confidential.
  • Support research and development of new and existing products.
  • Operate all vehicles and handle tools in a safe manner.
  • Follow company processes, policies, and procedures as outlined in the employment handbook.
  • Support regional sales managers with demonstrations, tradeshows, events and transportation of equipment and/or show materials.
  • Seek out and participate in professional development opportunities.
  • Others as assigned.
